Competitor Audit for Behavioral Health Talent Acquisition and Training Web-Based Service

The following project is a summary of research methods used to gain insights on essential features for a training and talent acquisition website.

  • Lead conceptualization and rollout of a business that offered the following via a web-based service:

    • Remote training for users to obtain certification to become a behavioral health professional

    • Staffing resource for employers seeking to hire credentialed behavioral health professionals

The Need

There is an unprecedented demand for credentialed behavioral health staff. 

  • New staff are not being trained fast enough

  • Employers have difficulty acquiring quality talent

The Challenge

The mission of the organization is to bridge the gap between passionate behavioral health practitioners and dedicated employers.

  • However, stakeholders did not have any clear insights about critical web-based features to achieve this mission

Project Goals

  1. Create personas to identify most frequent users for the web-based service. 

  2. Conduct a competitor audit to identify essential features for web-based service to meet all user needs.

  3. Identify actionable insights for web-based prototype.

Personas

Created personas representative of most common users of training and talent acquisition web-based service.

Competitor Audit

Conducted audit of web-based features and services on direct and indirect competitors

Insights

Identified primary insights and disseminated findings to stakeholders

Actionable Insightsts

Provided four actionable insights to stakeholders and developers to incorporate into design and web-based services.

Conclusion

The methods used in this project resulted in the following features to the web-based training and talent acquisition website:​

  1. Separate user paths for candidates and employers.

  2. Addition of a learning management system for trainees

  3. Addition of a talent acquisition portal for employers to search credentialed candidates.
